Team Overview



Team Revelation is a part of NASA's Ames Research Center Aviation System's Division summer internship program. The team was tasked with analyzing Covid-19's impact on aviation, and developing predictions for the outlook of the industry as well as coming up with recommendations regarding what NASA's aerospace research should focus on as a response to the pandemic. The team was overseen by Kee Palopo and Divya Bhadoria, both researchers at Ames' Aviation System's Division. You can view the team's final presentation here.

Meet Our Team

Andrés Carranza - LinkedIn

Andrés is a High School Junior from Bogotá, Colombia. He served as the team lead, and additionally was the team’s software developer, producing statistical and machine learning models as well as programming Team Revelation’s website. Andres loves learning more about STEM related topics, and has a special passion for math and machine learning. He aims to share the skills he has learned and promote the advancement of STEM knowledge in the impoverished communities of his hometown.

Minju O'Rourke - LinkedIn

Minju O’Rourke is a rising senior from Berkeley, CA. She led the research efforts for Team Revelation, guiding the direction of the report and working to create relevant recommendations for the focus of NASA’s research. Minju became interested in aviation after dedicating months to building and testing an indoor airplane for her Science Olympiad competition, and was thrilled to greatly expand her knowledge over the course of this internship. She is passionate about sustainability, and hopes to engineer zero-carbon vehicles in the future.

Tia Rawat - LinkedIn

Tia Rawat is a high school senior from Columbia, Missouri. She contributed as a researcher and graphic designer for Team Revelation, helping design the graphics on the website and presentation while also writing about passenger travel and air freight. Tia is deeply fascinated by space, leading her to a particular interest in NASA. With a hobby of traveling around the world, she became intrigued by aviation. Hoping to pursue an aerospace engineering career, Tia aspires to follow her passion for STEM and build new technologies that impact the world.

Ximena Ramirez - LinkedIn

Ximena is a high school senior from Hayward, California. Her passion for aerospace engineering led her to apply for an internship at NASA. She took on two roles in the team: graphic designer and researcher. She developed drafts of the website and provided input while it was being built. Simultaneously, she conducted research on commercial aircraft manufacturing and UAM.

Yusuf Jarada - LinkedIn

Yusuf Jarada is a high school senior from Sunnyvale California, and currently attends Fremont High School. He is interested in new fields in STEM and hopes to keep learning as he progresses through the industry. He helped code the website, provided research for the report, and edited the report.
